Today, at the time of what some call the 3rd industrial revolution, more and more local manufacturing sites such as fablab or makerspace are developing in our cities. These spaces offer access to tool technologies known as rapid prototyping. These places allow us to rethink production at the local level and even up to production. This course first proposes to discover these spaces in more detail through their stories and visits. And in a second time to understand these tools and their methods of use, documentation, free software…
Indeed, during this course and using the mobile unit, the students will learn how to use fast prototyping machines (3D printer, plotter, digital embroidery machine…) and even build some of them. The aim is to reflect on the use of such machines in a collaborative way within ENSAD by taking inspiration from the existing initiatives seen at the beginning of the semester (documentation of experiments, use of machines…).
