COURSE DESCRIPTION
Technologies are part of our everyday life, present in the smallest element around us, useful to control, interface or interact with the world. That a fact that we can’t deny, but today with the emergence of intelligent material and rapid prototyping tools, especially in the textile industry, we have the possibilities to imagine these interfaces more subtle, more instinctive, embedded/hiding completely the technical parts. This process have open a lot of possibilities to gather data in the quantified self field. Clothes are a second skin and integrate technologies inside could ask a lot of questions that today a creator can not elude. In this course, student will study examples of connected garments and experiment a lot of different material and process to create their own tool box in term of augmented fabric. We will see through different examples and references where are the fashion technology now and how push it forward.
